Cole Willis (De Martin) is a Mexican-American visual artist, photographer, writer, and student at Columbia University. Based in New York, Willis is a 2023 National YoungArts Finalist in Film, and U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts. He uses uses many forms of the visual arts in order to create narratives that exist as a culmination of the relationships between human desire, reclamations of youth, unbounded expression, and strife among the many obstacles of life through visual culture. His work seeks to inhabit personal interests such as language, literature, psychological theory and sciences, and artistic practice--while growing them into stories succint to experience but yielding to the visually metaphysical.
His work has been recognized by the San Francisco International Film Festival (SFFILM), i-D Magazine, LA Shorts International Film Festival, New York Latino Film Festival, Breckenridge Film Festival, Mix Creative Space Exhibit, and Young American Talent Competition. In addition to his work in the visual arts, he is a working model under KIM DAWSON AGENCY Inc.
